What to look for in a responsible breeder Part 5

Knowledge is Key

Every breeder starts somewhere, and I remember my early days as a “newbie.” However, I firmly believe that anyone considering breeding should first have a solid understanding of their breed, including aspects like structure, coat, temperament, and care. If you find yourself needing to reach out to other breeders for answers to basic questions about the puppies you’re interested in, it may be worth reconsidering that breeder’s qualifications.

As a responsible breeder, I make it a priority to research and learn when I encounter questions I can’t answer. Today, countless online resources and courses are available on puppy development, genetics, temperament, and more. Breeding is a career that demands ongoing education.

I live by the motto “Know Better, Do Better,” and I strive to embody this principle as I continually enhance my breeding program with the knowledge I gain.
