5 Daily Habits That Keep My Yorkies Thriving

Little things we do every day to support big health and happiness.

Caring for Yorkies isn’t just about treats and belly rubs (although those are important too!).

In our home, we’ve built a simple but powerful daily routine that keeps Gabby and Maci feeling their best—from the inside out. These small habits have made a big difference in their energy, coat, digestion, and overall joy.

Whether you’re a new Yorkie parent or a seasoned pup pro, here are five things we do every single day to support wellness and love on our fur babies.

🦴 1. Fresh Food, Twice a Day

Gabby and Maci start and end their day with a fresh, home-cooked meal that includes:

Ground beef

Rice

Spinach, peas, and carrots

We balance this with free access to PawTree Chicken & Oatmeal Dry Food during the day. It keeps them full, nourished, and supported with clean ingredients I trust.

💊 2. Supplements—Disguised in Liverwurst!

My girls get their daily supplements wrapped in a tiny bit of liverwurst (because Gabby is the pickiest pup alive 🐶). Here’s what we include:

Multivitamin for full-body support

Gastro Pro Plus for gut and immune health

Salmon & Pollock Oil for shiny coats + heart health

Plaque Control to keep their teeth fresh

Joint Support Plus to keep them spry and mobile

🧼 3. Brushing + Quick Wipe-Down

Daily brushing prevents tangles and mats—and keeps shedding down. I also give them a gentle paw and face wipe with pet-safe wipes after meals and walks to stay clean and fresh.

🚶‍♀️ 4. Movement + Snuggles

We go on a short walk or do a bit of backyard zooming every day. Movement is key for their joints and mood! And of course, extra cuddles are required. Yorkies are lovers—they need connection as much as they need play.

🌿 5. Calm Environment + Routines

Predictability creates security. I keep a calm home environment, limit sudden loud noises, and stick to a consistent routine. This has helped tremendously with anxiety, especially in my more sensitive pup.

❤️ Final Thoughts

These habits don’t take a lot of time—but they’ve made a world of difference. Our pets can’t speak up when they’re off, so building routines that nourish them body and soul is one of the best things we can do.
