🛁 How I Keep My Yorkies Clean Between Baths 🐾
Bath time can be a big event—especially with our long-coated Yorkie beauties! But keeping your pup fresh and clean between those full spa days doesn’t have to be a challenge. With a few simple tools and a daily routine, your Yorkie can look (and smell!) fabulous every day.
Here’s exactly how I keep Maci and Gabby clean and cuddly between baths:
✨ 1. Daily Face & Eye Wipe
Yorkies are known for those gorgeous expressive eyes—but they can also get a bit teary. I gently wipe their eyes each morning with a soft, damp cotton pad or pet-safe eye wipe to remove tear stains and keep their little faces fresh.
Tip: Always wipe outward, never directly into the eye.
🧴 2. Dry Shampoo or Waterless Foam
This is my holy grail for in-between days! I use a gentle, natural dry shampoo or waterless pet foam (PawTree has a great option!) and massage it into their coat. It helps remove oil, refreshes their scent, and keeps their fur from getting greasy or flat.
Bonus: It adds volume and softness too—hello, fluffy Yorkie!
🐕 3. Paw & Bum Checks
Every few days (and especially after walks), I give their paws and rear area a quick wipe. I use unscented pet wipes or a warm cloth to keep everything tidy. Yorkie fur around the back end can trap dirt easily—so keeping this area clean is essential.
💨 4. Brush, Brush, Brush!
Brushing isn’t just for looks—it helps distribute natural oils, prevent mats, and remove dirt or debris. I use a soft pin brush for daily detangling and a slicker brush every few days to tackle tougher knots, especially behind the ears and under their legs.

🌸 5. A Spritz of Freshness
Who doesn’t love a good hair perfume? I use a light, pet-safe grooming spray or cologne to give my girls a refreshing scent. It keeps them smelling like they just came from the groomer—even when we’re in between bath days.
